Odyssey's 12" "Sculptural Chestnut" Lamp
This lamp design is one of the most unique, due to the carved relief in the mold. The irregular surface created gives an extra dimension on the lamp that further enhances the final product.
For a limited time we are making the mold for this lamp available on a rental basis at the cost of $30. Regular purchase price is $110,
At the time of rental, you will receive your pattern so that cutting and foiling can be done ahead of time. When you are ready to complete your lamp, you may have the mold for up to two weeks.
Bear in mind that the glass selected for your creation can make or break the final look. For your reference, we have used the following glass:
Youghiogheny 5409SP --2 sq/ft (leaves)
Youghiogheny 1097SP --2 sq/ft (leaves)
Youghiogheny 1109SP --2 sq/ft (leaves)
Uroboros 65542 --1 sq/ft (background)
This may seem like more glass then you will need, but you will want to pick your glass carefully.
The copper plated zinc crown costs $37, so together with the mold rental & glass, your lamp shade will cost roughly $150 + solder, foil, etc.
This lamp shade is suited for the "Pony Tree Trunk Base", a cast brass, hand detailed & patinaed base. This base, pictured above, closely resembles its Tiffany prototype. It comes with a three socket cluster for optimum lighting. The regular retail price of the base is $620 and we are offering this base for $465-a 25% discount. This shade will also work fine with other less expensive bases.
This exquisite shade has only 219 pieces of glass and is relatively easy to build.
